The Mirka DEROS ushered in a new standard for sanding, with quieter running, soft start, electronic motor break and vibration control and vibration monitoring, and dust collection that meets the HEPA standard when used with the MIRKA DE1230PC Dust Collector.
The DEROS is leading in better quality of work with better quality of operator health and safety.
The powerful DEROS with its advanced technology brushless motor maintains sanding speed under heavy and changing load conditions, giving you the performance of a much larger machine, yet in the palm of your hand.
The DEROS is the lowest vibration sander in its class, the quietest sander in its class, and with the soft-start feature is easy on your hands and wrists. The electronic motor-break gives the fastest return to stop of any machine on the market when you release the paddle trigger.
Altogether the DEROS gives the user more working time with less fatigue or damage to hands, wrists and arms all while working in dust-free health and safety when connected to the MIRKA DE 1230 PC Dust Collector.
You can take that to the next level by connecting the DEROS to your phone, iPad or personal device via Bluetooth and the MyMirka app and you can monitor the levels of vibration (and speed) and can even monitor the total vibrations that the operator is exposed to during the work day.
The Mirka DEROS is available in a 3 inch model, (the 350CV), a 5 inch model, the (550CV) and a 6 inch model, (the 650CV) all equipped with a 3/16 inch (5 mm) orbit.
For very fine work, the 6 inch model is also available with a 3/32 (2.5mm) orbit , the (the 625CV)
The backing pads on the 5 inch Deros and the 6 inch Deros are interchangeable for the 5 and 6 inch machine, so a small shop can get the benefit of either size out of one machine by just changing the backing pad.
The 5 inch machine is a little better on concave surfaces and irregular surfaces, and can be more aggressive with less drag, and the 6 inch machine is a little better for control of large flat surfaces.
Primarily, however, the difference between 5 inch vs 6 inch backing pads is mostly a difference of a user’s personal preference and tradition.
Woodworkers and the marine industry seem to prefer the 5 inch machine whereas the automotive industry seems to lean toward the 6 inch machine.
The 3-inch machine is more unique.
I always say that a 3-inch DEROS is the sander you never knew how much you needed until you finally owned one.
The easier to control size is less affected by drag and much safer and effective on concave and complex surfaces.
Every professional finisher should have a 3 inch DEROS in his or her shop or toolbox to compliment their 5 or 6-inch machine.
The 3 inch DEROS really shines in post-finish work using MIRKA Abralon on curved or complex surfaces.
The DEROS is perfect for general sanding on almost all kinds of surfaces. We use ours on Wood, Metal, Epoxy and Polyester Fiberglass, and Solid Surfaces such as Corion®.
The Mirka® DEROS Really shines on post-finish work such as Paint, Lacquer, urethane, gelcoat, and varnishes.
The user has two options for speed control.
The maximum speed can be set on the control panel, and/or controlled by the very precision linier speed control of the paddle trigger.
With a little practice, you can learn to accurately control speed on the fly with the paddle trigger as if the machine were part of your hand and reading your mind.
It is that exact and truly amazing control.
The speed control is head and shoulders over anything on the market today.
The accurate speed control along with the soft start function and built in electronic motor brake make the DEROS a joy to use and definitely will bring the ease, efficiency and quality of your work a notch or two higher.
The high efficiency brushless motor has plenty of power to get the job done with the quickness of a much bigger machine, but with constant speed even under changing or heavy loads.
DEROS will deliver that powerful performance while being easier on your wrists, arms and hands and when connected to the DE1230 Dust Collector you can enjoy the better performance while keeping your air cleaner and safer to breath.
The Mirka® DEROS is also equipped with a backing pad, which has a central air inlet for better air flow and unbelievable dust control when vacuum sanding.
The DEROS is delivered with a back-up pad, a pad protector and a sample of MIRKA Abranet abrasive.
Last but not least, the 5 inch and 6 inch DEROS are delivered with an advanced quality plastic case, we call it a sustainer.
The sustainer’s unique design locks together with other sustainer cases if you need to carry multiple tools to your job, or with an optional adaptor the sustainer locks to the top of your DE1230 Dust Collector so your sustainer can be handy wherever you are working.
The 3 inch DEROS is delivered in a cardboard box but included in the box is a plastic base the fits in the sustainer along side the 5 inch or 6 inch DEROS, so you can carry it with you along with your bigger DEROS together in the same Sustainer.
