These modern mini quilts for your kitchen are beautiful, functional, and built to last! Set of two hot pads are made in my mid-century inspired, stained glass pattern in gray instead of blue. Squares and rectangles are separated by skinny strips of black to mimic the look of stained glass. Shades of gray are accented by bits of red, yellow, green, blue and orange. I used premium cotton fabrics to create the front and back of each contemporary potholder.
Sandwiched between front and back is a layer of cotton batting plus a layer of Insul-Bright - a thermal insulated batting with a reflective, metallicized poly center that reflects heat or cold back to its source. Minimal stitching lines hold all four layers together and give the hot pad a substantial and chunky texture.
Each hot pad measures a generous 9.5 inches square. They can also serve as a trivet under a hot dish.
This set would look great in any contemporary kitchen - a great gift for friend or family, housewarming, hostess gift – or treat yourself!
Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer; or spot clean by hand as needed.
