Eco-Fibre is made from dry fibrous wheat straw residue, a bi-product of wheat, it is completely unbleached which makes it a lovely natural pale honey colour.
The products are made by pressing the wheat straw fibress at a very high heat, under great pressure so the result are sturdy, rigid products suitable for a wide range of catering operations.
Wheat grows rapidly – it can crop every 18 weeks. It is one of the largest crops on the planet!
Eco-fibre range is highly sustainable and made from 100% rapidly renewable and reclaimed resources.
The product has an organic look and feel, which is the ideal complement to all food types.
The base material is a bi-product of wheat (using the straw and not the grain) and is certified gluten free.
Unbleached, it is preferable to paper and wood pulp and fits with the EU Environmental Policy; a directive which favours the use of agricultural waste.
This wheat fibre plate has received a 'OK HOME COMPOST' certification meaning they will compost and can be disposed of with food waste. Alternatively, can be recycled with Paper and Board and if it ends up on landfill will naturally decompose due to its plant-based nature.
